CLASS LEVELS
Upon arrival, your teacher will help you determine your Spanish level, and you both can discuss an appropriate amount of hours for your studies. We usually categorize our students into the following experience levels:
BASIC SPANISH:
For those who have had little exposure to the Spanish language, we offer a dynamic learning method which is accessible to all ages and experience levels. We focus on basic pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary necessary for everyday living. For a Basic learner, we recommend a course that covers at least 20 hours of Spanish instruction time.
INTERMEDIATE SPANISH:
At this level, students are able to communicate and focus is given to more complex grammatical principles and vocabulary development. We recommend that the Intermediate learner enrolls in 20 to 40 hours of instruction time.
ADVANCED SPANISH:
This level is for students already quite familiar with the Spanish language who would like to deepen their grammar, pronunciation, and vocabulary. In addition to fluency, we focus on writing, expression, literary and cultural knowledge through a variety of media. At this level, students and teachers have the flexibility to determine the topics of interest to be studied, as well as the materials, methods, and time-frame.
OUR RECOMMENDATION:
One-to-one classes at our Pucará Spanish School are particularly effective because they are personalized. The teacher will immediately catch and correct errors in grammar and speech, which may not be possible in a big classroom. Each individual has a different learning style, and in this program, the teaching method is customized to your preference. In a one-to-one setting, the student has the most possibilities to practice and ask questions, and he/she will most likely grasp Spanish faster than in a large class.
